If you love to visit the Pacific Northwest or are planning a move to Washington state, there are so many amazing cities to consider visiting or moving to. Obviously, the most well-known cities in Washington, like Seattle, would be a top choice, but there are also so many other cities to consider.
Whether you enjoy living in a larger city, or you prefer a slightly smaller city with more outdoor recreation options, there is a city for you in Washington state. Consider the following cities are you plan your visit or move to The Evergreen State:
Seattle
You probably can’t think of Washington state without thinking of Seattle, and for good reason, as it is the largest city in the state and the entire Pacific Northwest. The city is known for being surrounded by forests, for Starbucks and the general coffee scene, and for being a technology industry city.
If you are planning a visit to Seattle, be sure to check out the Space Needle and Pike Place Market. You may also enjoy taking in a Seattle Seahawks game or doing some hiking in the nearby evergreen forests. Seattle is a great mix of big city with some outdoor vibes, as well.
Bellevue
Bellevue is Seattle’s neighbour, located right across Lake Washington from the bigger city. Bellevue is known for being a high-tech city, with plenty of technology jobs due to the location of Amazon there and other technology companies.
Bellevue is also known for its great shopping, parks, schools, and economy. If all of this sounds wonderful to you, there are many Bellevue houses for sale. Bellevue is a great city to visit, but all of these excellent attributes also make it sound like a quality place to live.
Spokane
If you want to visit a city in the eastern part of the state, consider a visit to Spokane. Spokane is situated along the Spokane River, and due to its location between mountain ranges, it has much different weather than Seattle and the Pacific Northwest with more sunny days and warmer days in the spring and summer.
Spokane is known for its outdoor recreation opportunities, and a visit to Spokane is not complete without seeing Spokane Falls, a series of waterfalls and dams that you can walk to from downtown. Spokane also has a variety of cultural attractions to enjoy like theatres and museums, including the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, a Smithsonian affiliate museum. Spokane also hosts the Lilac Festival in May, and, in fact, the city’s unofficial nickname is the “Lilac City.”
If you are planning a visit to Washington state, there are so many great cities and attractions to check out. Seattle is an obvious choice, but you can also enjoy shopping in nearby Bellevue or outdoor activities and museums in Spokane in the eastern part of the state. There is such a variety of cities in Washington state and things to do in those cities that you will certainly never be bored.
