How many of you are at the age now where you go into the kitchen and forget what you went there for? Then 5 minutes later, your dinner has burnt dry. We all joke about it. But the fact is most of us can remember what we did 30 years ago. But we cannot remember where we put the door keys! Maybe it is your age, or maybe your mind is preoccupied. Whatever the reason, here are a few ideas to help you to improve your memory.

Diet And Exercise To Improve Your Memory
Many people get their brains in tune with diet and exercise, so here are a few tips that will help your memory that way. We have separated the diet and exercise in this section to make it easier to read.
Exercise
You need to unwind and forget all of the stress in your life. So a good way to do this is to try yoga or meditation. It will help to clear your mind and reset it. Finding a local yoga or meditation group will also help you get out of the house and meet new people.
A warm bath, a walk along the beach or time laying in the sun will help you to remember things more clearly. You might think that working hard will keep your brain and memory active, but that isn’t always the way. Go and try some yoga and see if it works for you.
Diet
Add some of the crucial fatty acids to your diet. Essential fatty acids are building blocks of neurons in your brain, but we do not see enough of them added to the diets of people these days. Flax, hemp and pumpkin seeds all have abundant all-important fatty acids. And you can buy them in seed or oil form to add to your diet. Fatty acids can also be found in fish.
Drinking coffee in the morning will help your brain and memory because it contains caffeine and antioxidants. These help with the health of your brain because they make you more alert for the day. So, remembering things will be easier for you. It also improves your mood and helps you to concentrate more which also helps with your memory
Turmeric is becoming more and more popular as it contains curcumin, which enters the brain to benefit the cells there. Then it helps to work toward improving your memory. Turmeric helps new brain cells to form, helps with memory and helps to ease the symptoms of depression.
Get Enough Sleep
We all know how rubbish we feel when we do not get enough sleep! So, it is any wonder that you have problems with your memory if you do not get enough sleep? Whilst you sleep, your brain rests and you need it to rest for it to work at its optimum. If you get a good night’s sleep, you are likely to find your short-term memory is a lot better than it has been.
To get a good night’s sleep, make sure your bed is comfortable and cosy, turn your gadgets off an hour before bed and don’t drink caffeine before you go to sleep.
Being More Organised
When you are disorganised, your mind is also disorganised. So, can you imagine all of the rubbish that is floating about in your mind? All the stuff that really doesn’t matter, you need to get rid of it. Think about the important things that are going on in your life. Then you will be less stressed, and this will help your memory.
Clearing your unorganised home will also help you to unwind, then you spend time doing things that really matter in your life. A clean home and a clear mind will help your brain think more actively as well as make you feel so much better.
Other Ways To Improve Your Memory
There are many more ways to improve your memory, and you just need to find the way that suits you and your brain. As people get older and they find their memory fading, they turn to jigsaw puzzles and crosswords to keep their brains working. This works really well if you have the time to do them. It is also why you find plenty of puzzles in old people’s homes.
If you are not getting enough fatty acids or other foods to help your memory, you can buy supplements from a health food shop or drug store. These will help to replace what is missing in your diet.
Whatever method you use to improve your memory, I am sure it will be the right way for you. If you have any other suggestions, please drop them in the comments below.
